MEKP Hardener
Catalyst / initiator for published polyester resin systems.
Samrat Poly Resins supplies MEKP Hardener to industrial buyers evaluating a catalyst / initiator for a published polyester, vinyl ester or gelcoat system. Begin with the actual resin grade and FRP application, then review the current TDS before requesting a quotation or technical discussion.

MEKP Hardener (Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide) is Samrat Poly Resins' published industrial catalyst / initiator for selected unsaturated polyester resin, vinyl ester resin and gelcoat systems. In FRP procurement and shop-floor language it may be called a hardener, catalyst or initiator because its role is to start curing in the selected resin system. It is not a structural resin, glass-fibre reinforcement or a finished-surface gelcoat. Review the actual resin grade, intended FRP application and current Technical Data Sheet before selecting the complete material system.
MEKP Hardener is a separate catalyst component for published resin systems including GP Clear Resin, GP White Resin, GP Yellow Resin, Lamination Resin, GP Gelcoat Resin and Vinyl Ester Resin. Glass Fiber is the separate reinforcement component, while FRP Polyester Pigment is a separate colour component. For a published compatible two-component epoxy route, review Epoxy Hardener and the Epoxy Hardener vs MEKP guide instead; MEKP does not replace that separate epoxy curing-agent component. Confirm the published product data for the actual system; this page does not provide operating instructions.
What is MEKP Hardener / MEKP Catalyst?
MEKP Hardener is the published catalyst / initiator component used with selected unsaturated polyester resin, vinyl ester resin and gelcoat systems. Buyers may search for a polyester resin hardener, MEKP catalyst or MEKP initiator; on this page, those terms describe the same product role in the selected curing system.
It does not replace the base resin, glass-fibre reinforcement, mould-side gelcoat or FRP Polyester Pigment. The relevant decision is whether the current product data for the base system matches the intended FRP component and manufacturing context.
Key features
- Published catalyst / initiator role for selected polyester-family resin systems
- Compatible-system guidance for unsaturated polyester, vinyl ester and gelcoat buyers
- Separate material role from structural resin, glass-fibre reinforcement and surface gelcoat
- Industrial-grade product with a published Technical Data Sheet
- 25 kg carboy packaging and 25 kg minimum order quantity
- Quote discussion can begin with the resin grade, application and expected quantity
Applications
- Published polyester resin systems for FRP products and laminates
- Published gelcoat systems for moulded FRP surface-finish work
- Published vinyl ester resin systems for specified chemical-storage and pipeline contexts
- Composite manufacturing applications where the selected base resin is confirmed first
What this means for MEKP Hardener buyers
Start with the base system
MEKP selection follows the intended unsaturated polyester, vinyl ester or gelcoat system. It is not a stand-alone replacement for choosing the correct resin grade.
Keep material roles distinct
Resin provides the matrix, Glass Fiber provides reinforcement, gelcoat provides the mould-side surface role, and pigment provides colour where required. MEKP is the catalyst / initiator component.
Use published procurement facts
Review the current TDS, 25 kg carboy packaging and 25 kg minimum order quantity, then share the resin grade, application, expected quantity, process and delivery location.
