A general-purpose surface-coating polyester resin applied as the outermost layer of FRP mouldings, ahead of the laminate. Brushed, sprayed or rollered onto the mould before laying up fibreglass, it cures with an MEKP catalyst into a smooth, high-gloss, water-white finish that shields the laminate underneath from moisture, abrasion and weathering. Thixotropic so it stays put on vertical mould faces without sagging, it's a more affordable alternative to ISO or vinyl ester gelcoats for standard-duty work.
