Gelcoat grades are not interchangeable storage profiles. The product TDS and applicable safety instructions for the exact grade are the controlling references for storage, handling and shelf-life decisions. Do not apply a temperature, shelf life or catalyst procedure from another resin simply because both are polyester products.
Maintain a simple receiving record
At receipt, record the product name, batch, date, stated shelf life, container condition and storage location. For production teams holding more than one batch, this creates a traceable record that can support stock rotation and later technical discussion.
Protect product condition through controlled handling
Keep containers managed in line with the product instructions, prevent contamination and preserve batch identification. Handling of resin, catalyst and any other process materials must follow the approved product and safety procedure; do not infer a mixing or storage practice from this general guide.
Use storage history when reviewing a concern
If a process result changes, include the storage record with the batch, component, process sequence and ambient conditions. This helps a technical discussion focus on facts, while avoiding unsupported conclusions about the root cause.
