A thermosetting polymer widely used in fibreglass-reinforced plastic composites. One of the most common resins thanks to its low cost, versatility and good mechanical properties. It crosslinks with a styrene monomer using an MEKP catalyst, hardening into a rigid, durable solid through free-radical polymerisation. Its 300–500 cPs viscosity allows easy penetration and wetting of reinforcement materials.
