Manufacturing process
General lamination follows the same core hand lay-up steps regardless of the part: glass fibre reinforcement is placed against the mould or repair area and wet out with resin catalysed by an MEKP hardener and cobalt octoate accelerator, rolled to remove air, and built up in layers to the thickness the job requires. Because job sizes and shapes vary so much, fabricators typically adjust catalyst dosage and layer count per part rather than following one fixed recipe.
