Lamination Resin (LR Resin) is a transparent, orthophthalic unsaturated polyester lamination resin developed by Samrat Poly Resins for door lamination, plywood lamination and other FRP bonding applications. It cures at room temperature once catalysed with MEKP and a cobalt octoate accelerator, offering excellent adhesion and wet-out over decorative door skins, plywood surfaces and composite panels. With a fast 5-minute gel time, 35% styrene content and 100% purity, it delivers a smooth, glossy, transparent finish and consistent, batch-to-batch performance for FRP and plywood lamination work.
In practice, Lamination Resin is catalysed with an MEKP hardener and cobalt accelerator, then applied over glass fibre reinforcement for door-skin and FRP bonding work. Where a project needs a broader general-purpose grade rather than a lamination-specific one, see our GP Clear Resin or base Unsaturated Polyester Resin (UPR); for higher chemical and corrosion resistance, step up to Vinyl Ester Resin, and pair with a Gelcoat Resin for a finished decorative surface.
What is Lamination Resin / LR Resin?
Lamination Resin, or LR Resin, is the published transparent orthophthalic unsaturated polyester grade for door lamination, plywood lamination and FRP bonding work. It is a liquid resin that cures at room temperature with the published MEKP and cobalt octoate system.
For buyers, the selection starts with the component, substrate and working window. The published 400 cPs viscosity and 5-minute gel time should be checked against the actual lay-up, wet-out, air-removal and bonding sequence; they are not a stand-alone approval for every FRP process. General FRP, chemical-resistance and mould-surface requirements should be reviewed against the relevant product data.

What this means for lamination buyers
Component-led lamination selection
The published applications cover door skins, plywood, decorative panels and FRP bonding, helping buyers begin with the substrate and laminate role rather than a generic resin label.
Working-window review
Review the TDS and published 400 cPs viscosity, 5-minute gel time and room-temperature cure system against the actual lay-up sequence, workshop temperature and time needed to wet out reinforcement and remove trapped air.
