Where GP Yellow Resin fits in FRP manufacturing

GP Yellow Resin is Samrat Poly Resins’ published transparent-yellow, orthophthalic unsaturated polyester grade for general FRP lamination and moulded-product work. It is used with glass-fibre reinforcement to build the structural laminate, rather than as the mould-facing surface coating.

The product-specific colour decision comes first: confirm that its intentionally transparent-yellow supplied appearance is acceptable in the process or build-up. The published applications cover roofing sheets, water tanks, cooling towers, door skins, hand lay-up, spray-up and general FRP moulded products; each route should still be checked against the TDS and actual line conditions.

Published application areas

Roofing sheets, water tanks and cooling towers

These existing application pages show where GP Yellow Resin is discussed for FRP sheet lamination and tank or cooling-tower production. Buyers should confirm the component design, reinforcement, process and finished-surface requirement before choosing a grade.

Door skins and general moulded products

For door skins, panels and general FRP moulded products, the product role is the reinforced laminate. Where the visible surface is important, the surface-finish requirement should be considered separately from the structural laminate requirement.

Hand lay-up and spray-up

The published GP Yellow Resin application pages cover both hand lay-up and spray-up. The product’s published viscosity and gel time should be reviewed against the equipment, reinforcement, part geometry and working window before production use.

Selecting the grade for the finished part

GP Yellow Resin is intentionally transparent yellow, so buyers should first confirm whether that supplied colour is acceptable in the process or build-up. It does not, by itself, define the final appearance of a reinforced, pigmented or surface-finished component. Then compare the published 450-600 cPs viscosity at 25 C and 10-15 minute gel time with the intended process.

A general-purpose grade is not automatically the right choice for every project. Where a clear grade, lamination-focused product, chemical-resistance system or mould-surface coating is required, review GP Clear Resin, Lamination Resin, Vinyl Ester Resin or GP Gelcoat Resin as appropriate, together with their published product data.

Procurement and process checklist

Before requesting a quote, record the finished FRP component, reinforcement and process, expected quantity, resin colour or surface-finish context, required delivery location and any existing grade in use. Review the GP Yellow Resin TDS and its published packaging, MOQ, shelf life and storage information before finalising a requirement.
