DMC/SMC Resin
Orthophthalic resin for dough and sheet moulding compounds.
Samrat Poly Resins supplies DMC/SMC Resin to industrial buyers evaluating an orthophthalic unsaturated polyester resin for the published Dough Moulding Compound and Sheet Moulding Compound contexts. The current documentation identifies one DMC/SMC product route; it does not publish a compound recipe, a separate BMC grade or finished-part ratings.

DMC/SMC Resin is Samrat Poly Resins' published orthophthalic unsaturated polyester resin for Dough Moulding Compound (DMC) and Sheet Moulding Compound (SMC) applications. The current Technical Data Sheet identifies one pale-yellow, non-accelerated liquid grade for DMC/SMC moulding compounds, electrical components and its listed application contexts. It is a moulding-compound product route, not a broad substitute for general-purpose FRP, sheet-grade or lamination resin. Review the current TDS, intended finished component and compound-system requirement together before procurement.
The current DMC/SMC TDS is the grade-specific reference for this product. MEKP Hardener is the separate catalyst / initiator product route for published polyester-family systems, but this page does not provide a compound recipe or curing instructions. Where reinforcement is separately specified, see Glass Fiber for its material role; the repository does not prescribe CSM 300, CSM 450 or a specific reinforcement format for this DMC/SMC Resin.
What is DMC / SMC Resin?
DMC/SMC Resin is the site’s published orthophthalic unsaturated polyester resin route for Dough Moulding Compound (DMC) and Sheet Moulding Compound (SMC). The current TDS identifies one pale-yellow, non-accelerated liquid grade for those named moulding-compound contexts, alongside its listed electrical-component and industrial applications.
This is not a generic description of every polyester resin or every compound system. The repository does not publish separate DMC and SMC formulations, a BMC designation, a filler/reinforcement formula, a moulding recipe or finished-part ratings. Use the current product document and actual component requirement to confirm whether this listed route is relevant.
DMC and SMC: what the published product name means
Samrat’s current TDS names one DMC/SMC Resin product for two compound contexts. These cues clarify terminology without treating different compound forms as the same formulation.
DMC = Dough Moulding Compound
The TDS expands DMC as Dough Moulding Compound and includes it in the documented product role. It does not provide a separate DMC-grade formulation or production recipe.
SMC = Sheet Moulding Compound
The TDS expands SMC as Sheet Moulding Compound. This is a moulding-compound context, not a reference to Samrat’s separately published FRP sheet-grade resin products.
BMC is not a published synonym here
The current product listing and TDS do not equate DMC with BMC or publish a BMC grade. Do not use BMC as a substitute term without confirming the actual requirement.
Resin data is not finished-compound data
The TDS publishes liquid-resin supply data. Finished compound and moulded-part results can depend on the total system, so this page does not claim formulation, part performance or an approval.
Choose the resin by the documented product role
Use these concise routes to avoid confusing a moulding-compound requirement with a general FRP, sheet, lamination or fire-performance requirement.
DMC or SMC moulding compound
Review this DMC/SMC Resin and its current TDS when the requirement is specifically a published Dough or Sheet Moulding Compound context.
General UPR or GP Resin
Unsaturated Polyester Resin is the broader family. Review GP Clear Resin for general-purpose FRP rather than assuming a general grade fits a DMC/SMC requirement.
FRP sheet or panel resin
Sheet Grade Yellow Resin and Roof Light Sheet Grade Resin are separate FRP sheet/panel routes. “Sheet” in SMC does not make their data interchangeable.
Lamination requirement
Lamination Resin is the published route for door, plywood and FRP bonding work; it is not positioned as this moulding-compound product.
Specified fire-performance requirement
This DMC/SMC Resin page does not establish fire-retardant performance. If a project names a fire requirement, review the separate Fire Retardant Resin route and share the specification.
Reinforcement requirement
Glass Fiber is a separate reinforcement-material decision. The current DMC/SMC documentation does not prescribe CSM 300, CSM 450 or a reinforcement design.
Before purchase, review the current DMC/SMC Resin TDS and the published product range. Share whether the requirement is DMC or SMC, the finished component, any stated specification, expected quantity, packaging need, delivery location and required documentation. This page intentionally does not provide formulation or process instructions.
