Use the grade-specific TDS as the technical reference
The current DMC/SMC Resin TDS is the controlling document for the published liquid-resin specification. It identifies an orthophthalic unsaturated polyester resin, pale-yellow liquid appearance, 600 cPs viscosity at 25 C, non-accelerated curing type, 12-18 minute gel time at 25 C, 35% styrene content, 1.12 g/cm3 specific gravity and 32 C closed-cup flash point.
It also publishes a three-month shelf life, below-25 C cool and dry storage, 225 kg drum packaging and a 1,000 kg MOQ. Review the complete current document for test context and purchase discussion.
Liquid resin data is not finished compound data
Published resin data describes the supplied liquid product. Finished DMC or SMC compound and moulded-part results can depend on the total system, including resin, reinforcement, fillers, additives, compound formulation and moulded configuration.
That is why viscosity, gel time or specific gravity should not be presented as proof of a finished component's strength, surface quality, electrical behaviour, fire performance or dimensional result. Those requirements must be specified and verified for the relevant system.
Read low-shrink and electrical wording carefully
The current TDS lists low shrinkage and electrical insulation among key characteristics. It does not publish a low-shrink value, low-profile designation, Class-A claim, electrical test method, electrical value or finished-part certification.
Use the wording to frame a buyer question, not as a complete technical approval. If a project requires a defined property, provide that requirement and request the relevant product or system evidence.
