Styrene monomer is a flammable liquid that gives off vapour readily, which is why it's handled with fire-safety precautions (away from ignition sources, sparks and open flame) and used in adequately ventilated spaces. Styrene monomer is generally stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight, heat sources and ignition risks, in tightly sealed original containers.
