Button Grade Resin and GP Resin should not be compared as if they have the same job. The Button Grade Resin listing is for transparent casting of buttons and small decorative mouldings. GP Clear Resin is the general-purpose product to review for reinforced FRP manufacture.
The practical question is whether the resin will become a visible cast button or be used with glass fibre to build a laminate. That distinction should lead the procurement discussion.
Use the published data as context
Button Grade Resin is published at 1,100 cPs with a 9.5-minute gel time, while GP Clear Resin is published at 350-450 cPs with gel time under eight minutes. These values describe separate grades and should not be used to predict line performance without the relevant TDS and process context.
The different appearance and packaging details should likewise be read as product-specific information, not as a universal ranking of one resin over another.
Avoid the wrong substitution
If a job requires reinforced FRP, begin with the GP Clear Resin or Unsaturated Polyester Resin product data. If it requires a visible button or small decorative moulding, begin with Button Grade Resin. For a different specified material system, compare the relevant dedicated product instead of forcing a GP-versus-Button choice.
