A documented roof-light sheet route
Roof Light Sheet Grade Resin is Samrat Poly Resins' published water-white orthophthalic unsaturated polyester resin for translucent roof-light panels and skylight sheets. The product designation identifies a specific roofing-sheet buyer requirement, not a general search for any clear resin.
The current Technical Data Sheet describes high optical clarity for light penetration and lists skylights, roof-light panels, greenhouses, industrial and commercial roofing, and roofing-sheet production. Review the exact component and current TDS before treating the product as suitable for a requirement.
Published applications
The TDS lists skylights and roof-light panels as published applications — the core contexts for a buyer who needs a water-white resin route for a finished sheet intended to admit natural light. Greenhouses, industrial and commercial roofing, and roofing-sheet production are also published product contexts.
The listing does not publish light-transmission percentage, haze, load rating or finished-sheet weathering life. Those requirements should be assessed through the relevant component and project documentation. For each context, document the actual sheet profile, required supplied appearance, reinforcement context and finished-sheet requirement before product selection.
Roof Light compared with GP Clear Resin
A buyer searching for a clear polyester resin may actually have a roof-light sheet requirement. The useful first question is whether the finished component is a documented roof-light, skylight or translucent-sheet application, rather than whether both products appear clear.
Each product has its own TDS, technical values and published applications. A shared polyester family does not allow viscosity, gel time, storage, UV or finished-sheet expectations to be carried from one route to the other. Use the roof-light route where its documented sheet-specific role matches the requirement, and GP Clear where its documented general-purpose role matches the actual component. Neither is a universal substitute for the other.
Roof Light compared with Sheet Grade Yellow Resin
These products are deliberately separated because the buyer's finished-sheet requirement is different. Sheet Grade Yellow Resin is supplied pre-pigmented yellow for its sheet and panel role. Roof Light Sheet Grade Resin is supplied water-white for roof-light and skylight intent.
Use that supplied appearance distinction to start the selection conversation. Do not infer light-transmission percentage, UV rating, weathering life or other finished-sheet performance from the category name alone. A coloured or opaque sheet/panel requirement points to the Sheet Grade Yellow route; a translucent roof-light requirement points to this one. Both should be checked against their own current TDS.
The FRP material-system discussion
The resin is one material role. Glass Fiber is the separate reinforcement role where specified, while Gelcoat is a separate mould-facing surface-finish decision. A product name alone does not describe the complete FRP sheet system, and these roles should be named separately in the purchase discussion.
Quotation checklist
The Roof Light Resin TDS is the controlling reference for this route. It lists a 225 kg drum and 500 kg minimum order quantity alongside the grade-specific technical data and application context. These published details do not confirm stock availability, lead time, sample policy, delivery commitment or suitability for an unreviewed finished sheet.
Provide the finished sheet, supplied appearance requirement, product grade under consideration, reinforcement context if known, expected quantity, delivery location and any relevant document or drawing. This guide intentionally does not provide catalyst ratios, handling directions, production instructions, optical values, outdoor-life statements or finished-sheet performance guarantees.
